In 1950 the nation of Korea had just recovered from the devastation of World War II and the Japanese Occupation. Suddenly the communist crossed the border into the south and the Korean War began. When we visited Korea in 1981, we saw how the nation was just beginning to grow and flourish. It was in its infancy of modernization. The airport we landed in was not modernized. And, most of the time under Marshall Law. Passengers were deplaned in the field and brought to the terminal by buses. Everyone went through inspection even though they were not intending to stay in Korea but were in transition to another nation.
Because of the Korean war, many refugees escaped the north and found freedom in the south. These people were people of faith, mainly. They were escaping so that they could worship God in spirit and in truth. The Korean Revival of 1907 impacted the entire nation. And these Christian believers found their way to Seoul where they set up make-shift tents which became some of Korea's most prestigious churches and universities.
It was a year of rebuilding and their foundation was JESUS CHRIST. Millions of people would gather in early morning prayer during the 1960's through the 1990's. Thirty years of fervent passionate prayer and Korea was reborn into a world leader, a prosperous nation.
But today, where is the prayer that changed a nation? The early morning prayer meetings are dwindling or non-existent. The pastors are struggling to keep the church filled.
People are prosperous. The children's worldview has been impacted by television, the internet and social media.
Yes, there are lots of wonderful things happening in Korea today! But without the
POWER OF PRAYER THAT CHANGED A NATION... slowly the moral compass that made Korea a great nation is ebbing away allowing the ENEMY to infiltrate the nation in every sector up to the national leadership itself. This is happening to America as well. The church of Laodicea (Rev. 3:14-22) brought calamity to the United States until 9-11 took place. This church will do the same to Korea unless the Godly Leaders of that nation unite and begin to pray again as one body.
It took America 16 years to remember that PRAYER CAN CHANGE A NATION. in 2016, the YEAR OF JUBILEE, churches everywhere began to pray with passion, repentance and a new found purpose, to bring God back to the life of the American people. The election of 2016 was a miracle. Hillary Clinton was supposed to win. There were a barrage of attacks on Donald Trump. He was not supposed to win. The news were already declaring Hillary a winner by landslide. What happened?
"The effectual fervant prayer of a righteous man (people) availeth much." James 5:16
PRAYER CAN CHANGE A NATION. But lack of prayer will set the nation back again.
ALL GODLY NATIONS LED BY GODLY LEADERS SHOULD REMEMBER THAT A NATION WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD SHALL BE BLESSED! Psalm 33:12
Don't forget God and He will not forget you!
As we approach the year 2020, our focus should be on the Voice of God. His voice is the one that we should hear and listen to. "He that hath an ear; let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches." Rev. 2:7a
