Since my first public speaking engagements it seems that my topic has always been Technology for Ministry and the Marketplace. Today, technology is rapidly changing so what I taught today is improved tomorrow. But no matter what, everything has a basis and a foundation.

Technology should always begin with Why? Why do I need to implement this in my ministry? Will it make a difference? Will it help me be more successful in reaching my goals and the vision God has given to me.
In 1996 I was still dabbling with the Word Processor. I had no idea how to use the new computers that were coming out. I recall applying for a job with Christian Educators Association. One of the requirements was a word processing exam on a new computer.
I looked at the computer, and at least I could figure how to turn it on. They asked me to write a letter, do a graphic project and some other exercises. The basics that I knew about typing and word processing helped me navigate this new technology and by playing with the computer a little, I figured it out and was hired.
Don't be afraid of technology, but LEARN THE BASICS. Today everything you need to know is on YouTube. Instruction videos, how to videos etc.
This week your first lesson is to understand that Technology can help you reach your goals faster and mostly free!
HINT: The reason why I am loyal to America Online - is not only because they were the first major internet company to offer internet to everyone at a low price, but they have some features I love. EMAIL ADDRESS BOOK. For those of you who have to send out hundreds of emails a week, for church or ministry, by contacting AOL you can request permission to bulk email. They have an awesome address book APP that will allow you to sort, group and send email with just a click.
Although the new Gold AOL is sometimes slow and cumbersome, I can see that they are trying to improve it all the time! Adelle McKinney
